This week has passed in a blur of food and fashion. Not that I am complaining. It is, sadly though, worth noting that if you eat to much food, the fashion bit doesn’t work all that well (Spanx, here we come).

I happen to live around the corner from the hugely talented – and successful – handbag designer, Emily Cheetham. She has very kindly agreed to do A Day in the Life for Changmoh but rather than write up a typical day here in Singapore, I asked her if she’d share a day from her recent trip to Paris Fashion Week, where she was showcasing her very identifiable, beautifully made bags. She packed a lot into her trip to the fashion capital, from a King Karl (and yes, I do mean Lagerfeld) spotting to macaroons by Le Meurice. Here’s a snapshot of just one day:
Emily, over to you.

There are so many shops here in ever-expanding Seminyak that it’s slightly mind boggling. Most sell over priced beach dresses; best accessorised by a compulsory tan and bed-head bleached blonde tresses (I can do the hair but fail badly on the tan front). Armed with a few recommendations, we hit the shops yesterday.
Here’s my edit of the Seminyak Strip – the ‘Paris’ end of Seminyak – and beyond:

I’m in Bali with family and friends for a sneaky week away. We’re staying in a lovely villa that I’d recommend in a heartbeat, opposite a paddy field (below) and about ten minutes from the bustling town – or should I say city? It’s gone and got itself in a big rush since I was last here about two years ago – of Seminyak.

We all know what a kopitiam is, right? Kopi-C, kaya toast and maybe some soft boiled eggs. Well, think again. A kopitiam (read ‘coffee shop’ if you’re still confused) over in Tiong Bahru is doing things differently: one of their tenants is whipping up phenomenal pasta dishes that come in at $5 a throw. The scoop? They’re delicious.
