I love wearing pearl earrings but worry that I look a bit of an Aunty/Sloane Ranger in them. I’m not sure which is worse. Bring on these puppies that are studs, but at the same time, extremely cool.
Their bubble design is very much inspired by the house of Dior, but without the Dior price tag.
Excellent, I’ll take two pairs, please. I have these ones in emerald green as well as the top pair in more traditional pearly white.
I bought them from a shop that I was introduced to by BBG (check out her blog, I Love Bon Bons, here). The store is called What Women Want. And they are right, everything in it, I do want to buy.
The woman responsible for it is the beautiful Ana who has an amazing eye and really knows her stuff.
Originally from Brazil, she’s lived in Singapore for eight years and has a talent at snapping up standout, eclectic pieces. Some are also one-offs. What’s more, the prices won’t kill you. If I’m ever near Mandarin Gallery (where her shop is) I always pop in to see what’s new.
I also love how as an ex-model, she really knows how to dress (OK we all dress, but Ana ‘Dresses’; very much with a capital ‘D’). She’s a great stylist/help if you ask for her opinion, to the extent that she has even talked me out of buying things.
WWW also stocks some two-tone ‘bubble’ earrings but they look seriously weird on and I gave them a wide berth (I was toying with a red and turquoise pair when I had the revelation that the big red bit – which is worn at the back – looked like a sort of pustulating boil).
Go for same, same colours and you’ll be fine, or indeed any and all of her other stock.
