Changmoh is not a blog that bangs on about hopelessly expensive things to do like chartering luxury yachts or buying wildly expensive clothes. And now, in the very same breath, I am going to proceed to tell you why I think hiring a yacht is actually a great idea and – here’s the scoop – relatively *affordable* for a day out with a difference.

I feel very lucky to live a hop, skip and a jump away from the Green Corridor/Old Railway Track/Rail Corridor…whatever you want to call it.
Each and every time I am here, I feel as if I have walked into the pages of Alice in Wonderland and fallen down a rabbit hole: acres of unmanicured, relatively untouched green space is not what you expect to find when you live in suburbia, as I do, somewhere just off Sixth Avenue.
If it has made a difference to me, it has had even more of an impact on Poppy Dog…

I’ve blogged about these guys before and I while I loved their concept of selling semi-precious stones at prices cheaper than most decent costume jewellery (to give you an idea, a pair of classic rose quartz earring set in Sterling silver costs just $50/£25) I had a real issue with how they sold their gear.
To keep prices keen there was, understandably, no shop. Instead they either sold at fairs or on Facebook. I rarely make it to the expat fairs – I might do one at Christmas – so Facebook was my only real option: you had to write ‘sold’ in the comments section underneath a picture if you liked what you saw and wanted it – i.e. everyone you were friends with on Facebook could see what you were up to, if they could be bothered.
I am not one of those disingenuous people who desperately want to pass their silver set rose quartz earring off as costing more than I paid for them, but equally I don’t want to advertise to every Tom, Dick & Harry (must do a Facebook clearout) that they were ridiculously good value either.
Why am I telling you this? Because, joy of joys, Lustre – as of today – has its very own online store.

If anyone thinks Singapore and Singaporeans are uninspiring, this one’s for you: Ren’s fashion label MATTER – which launched just five months ago – has already been featured in Vogue Italia. Oh and, in case that’s not impressive enough, Vogue India too.
The brainchild of Renyung Ho – or Ren as she also goes by – and her business partner Yvonne, MATTER fabrics are beautifully cut, clothes are deliciously wearable and all furnished with brilliantly unusual, striking prints. All the prints are designed by artisan communities around the globe, some of whom have been practicing their craft for generations. The MATTER mission? To help make textile artisanship a sustainable practice. They also hope to inspire consumers to value provenance – i.e. where clothes come from and the stories in fabric.
I first met Ren through a friend and instantly loved both her and her brand. I was thrilled when she agreed to do a Day in the Life for changmoh. I own two pieces from the current collection, both of which I have hardly taken off. Find out which ones at the bottom of the post.
Ren, over to you:

If I had been waiting for a time to reveal my face to you, (I haven’t; I was actually thinking I might never get around to it) the time has undeniably arrived.
Annie Leibovitz was in town last week (above) to launch her second Singapore exhibition, this time at a lovely little gallery tucked away in the art hotspot that is Gillman Barracks…and she and I snapped a selfie together. Correction, she actually took it!
So, without further ado, here’s my selfie with Annie Leibovitz by Annie Leibovitz:
