I love wearing pearl earrings but worry that I look a bit of an Aunty/Sloane Ranger in them. I’m not sure which is worse. Bring on these puppies that are studs, but at the same time, extremely cool.

I love cheongsams. I don’t wear them much (click here to read the post explaining why not) but I love them for their clean lines and for being the only dresses in existence that manage to be utterly suggestive, yet in possession of a seriously high collar.
I was recently contacted by Elaine who is at the helm of the new, homegrown label The Lady General. She has breathed new life into the traditional, expected shape of cheongsams and mandarin collared tops and I love what she has done.

I have been ‘in a relationship’ with SK-II ever since my Mother-in-Law went to a school reunion here in Singapore, about five years ago now. The youngest looking person in the room – by far – admitted that she had been using it for thirty years (she crumbled under some close questioning; my MIL* is ON IT when it comes to skincare).
I am prepared to invest in my skin and, on the strength of just how good this woman looked, I bought their Facial Treatment Essence which has received rave reviews – not only from the youthful-looking sixty-year-old auntie – but from most beauty eds around the globe. I use mine morning and night.

I love a pop-up event, where stores who don’t usually have a presence in wherever it is they’ve popped up, carefully and creatively showcase their stock to people they hope to convert in to the rare beast that is the ‘new customer’.
Naiise – pronounced ‘nice’ – is having such a moment now, in Orchard Central. About 60% of what Naiise stock is locally designed/made, 40% of things come from overseas, mainly from Europe. It is all design/style based.

Packing for any trip to the UK is, more often than not, a bit of a gamble. You just don’t know what the weather will be doing – bar December when it’s likely to be darn cold.
‘Summer’ can come as late as September and traveling in Europe in June definitely doesn’t equal bathing suits.
What I’ve lived in this time, especially in rural France, has been Uniqlo’s striped boat-neck long sleeved T that comes in a mass of colours. I had two on almost constant rotation: predictable Breton blue and white…
