I am not much of a fan of Tanglin ‘maul’. It’s useful but there’s something distinctly over-priced and over-rated about the whole experience. And just when you thought Cold Storage couldn’t be any more expensive…there’s Tanglin Market Place.
I am, however, quite a fan of Shopping at Tiffany’s, nestling in the corner spot on the same level as the taxi stand (the two ground floors here always confuse me). I know its rails look like a sale shop and you have to root around quite hard to find any treasure but, guess what? The prices are reasonable and some of the clothes are amazing.
I was in there two days ago, having only meant to pop in briefly, and came away with a dress, pair of trousers and four tops.
The pictures below don’t really do any justice to any of what I bought, but do what you have to to get your hands on the vest tops which they have in at the moment; they really are super-flattering and look great with shorts, jeans or frankly…anything.
I can also imagine wearing them with a long, skinny cardy in the UK this summer too (I’m no good in regular cotton tank tops as I feel they’re always too tight around the tummy and I end up feeling self conscious).
The vests are cut quite big so if you’re a skinny-minny you’ll need to get them nipped in, but that’s easy enough to do (go and see Regina in Far East Plaza).
This is what they look like in store – i.e.nothing you’d look twice at, as is often the problem in this shop:
And this is what they look like on (OK, sadly, probably not quite what they look like on me, but you get the jist of how they hang etc)
I bought one in black, white, orange and green.
The other thing I snapped up were these trousers which go perfectly with almost anything, in particular my new tangerine orange vest. Despite what you may think, they look great on and are actually very flattering (picture to follow)
Last but not least, I also bought this day dress, although in a blue and white colourway rather than the orange and white pictured below. Shove it on and off you go.
I also loved her sunglasses but felt that I had probably spent enough ($69 a pair)
In the interests of full disclosure, I’m a social media consultant for Shopping at Tiffany’s. This, however, is NOT a sponsored post. I’ve written it because I have just been down to her shop in Tanglin Mall and practically emptied it.
Shopping at Tiffany’s is in Tanglin Mall and Great World City. Click here for website.
