Hush Now…This Is A Secret

By Changmoh • Tuesday, 4 September 2012 • Fash, More Dash than Cash

In a bid to wear only high heels and be very glamourous in my day-to-day life, pre children, I once gave all my flat shoes to the charity shop in Marylebone High Street (London) near where I was working. I knew it was drastic but I also knew it was the only way I wouldn’t crumble at the last minute and lazily slip on a ballet flat.

Unfortunately it only lasted until lunchtime, when I had to revisit Cancer Research and unceremoniously buy back all the ones that hadn’t yet sold (most of them as it turned out…not sure whether from a style perspective that’s good or bad).  What I am trying to say is that unless a high heeled shoe is comfortable, I really won’t wear it…and now, after years of shoe mistakes, I really won’t buy it either.

I am however, thrilled with my latest purchase, made yesterday with Milly (my nickname for my Mother-in-Law; so-called due to the initials M-I-L) who I genuinely adore and who is currently staying with me for 2 weeks.  She’s hugely into shoes – in a way that I am not; I like bags – and a very good shoe shopper, with the enviable knack of being able to choose ones that look questionable off but amazing on.

Bought to be worn with shorts, they are from……wait for it……

Hush Puppies.

Before you gag and roll your eyes – this may be an anonymous blog, but no, you needn’t worry, I am not 90; nor do I have bunions – I am in possession of all my faculties, I have a strong sense of style and I definitely know how to dress. There is just one small thing that may set me apart from the crowd out here: I don’t care where I shop, as long as what I buy is awesome.

These Hush Pup wedges are so fabulous looking that I was stopped twice in ION (their first outing) and asked where I got them. All without anyone knowing how comfy they are.

I bought my pair of Hush Puppies from their store in GWC.

The Chinese Angmoh
Why the strange name? Changmoh is an amalgamation of the words Chinese & 'Angmoh' (local speak for Caucasian should you be reading this in a country other than SG) // I'm an English girl living in Singapore and love the local way of life so much that I actually think I’m half Chinese. Maybe even three-quarters // Freelancer writer, author and editor ... you read it here first.
