I am not very green fingered now that I live in Singapore. I loved getting covered in mud back in England, but the earth in our sunbaked and very small garden here is rock hard and seems to be predominately clay. So imagine my surprise when I saw this yesterday (below) dangling from a non-productive passionflower creeper that was the solution, four or so years ago, for an ugly dividing wall.
It did nothing more than creep up the wall, beautifully covering it. It had failed to flower or fruit…until now.
Home grown – especially when it’s without hope or anticipation – tastes very sweet indeed.
