Wine in Singapore is expensive. To the extent that when you throw a dinner party people feel compelled to bring a bottle.
I wish they wouldn’t as invariably what they ‘kindly’ bring is of comparable quality to a 5GBP bottle from a Spa Minimart (the UK, wine-selling equivalent to a 7-Eleven). I now use these unwelcome additions to my household for cooking when I make bolognaise, but that’s hardly a regular occurrence. Lately I have taken to just giving them to my gardener.
So for anyone looking for good value AND delicious wine…this one’s for you:
True, it’s no looker. The bottle I mean. But it’s really worth getting over that fact pronto because this baby is a Robert Parker 94 pointer and delicious. But that’s not the clever part. What’s truly amazing is that 2010 Chateau Pesquie Terrasses red only costs $32 from Wine Connection.
