I secretly want to keep the news of this competition all to myself…but being a good British subject, I couldn’t possibly (‘possibly’ said with special emphasis; think of an old fashioned BBC reporting voice/the Queen/my mother).
The British High Commission got in touch with me yesterday to ask me to help build awareness for their photo campaign ‘Best of Britain in Singapore’ (win and you get to meet the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge).
I am of course thrilled to do so; but be warned, it’s much too fun a competition not to be entering in to…so, read fast…who’s to say I haven’t already bombarded the High Commish with about 10 pictures. The race is on!
Here’s the deal: To meet Kate and Wills when they’re here in Singapore as part of the Diamond Jubilee Tour (they will be here on 11-13 September) all you have to do is show, in a photograph, what you think best represents the UK’s identity in Singapore. It can be anything from architecture to cultural events, people, places or even food…
All entries must be submitted by 4th September 2012 together with a description (no more than 100 words) of why you think your photo represents ‘Best of Britain in Singapore’. Entries should be emailed to: ukinsg.contest@gmail.com.
The winner will attend one of the events in the Duke and Duchess’s programme (to be announced at a later stage).
