The Urban Myth that is Spray Tanner Hannah

By Changmoh • Tuesday, 16 April 2013 • Beauty, Brit Stuff, More Dash than Cash

Yup, there really is a leggy blonde English girl who lives in Chip Bee Gardens and who turns all who meet her into golden goddesses.

I first heard about Spray Tanner Hannah (such a great name) when one of my lovely readers commented on a post I’d written about spray – and pray – tans here in Singapore.

A few evenings later I met Hannah, by chance, at the Tippling Club (above). Her business card had extra resonance and she explained how she got in to giving spray tans after being bitterly disappointed by a slap-it-on Declor fake tanning session she’d had here in Singapore when she arrived.

She hunted for an alternative and when there didn’t seem to be much else on offer, she did her homework, identified a tanning brand she loved and flew to Australia to do a course in professionally applying it.

Her tan of choice – she’s adamant nothing else compares to it in terms of quality, smell (or lack of) and the speed at which it dries (2 hours) – is Naked Tan which looks very natural once it’s on.

Whether or not you go for one or two applications is up to you and your skin tone.  Old pasty white here went for just one and it was perfect for me. Not a whiff of orange, (my biggest fear) just an all over subtle glow…so much so that people keep asking me if I’ve had a hair cut or just a good night’s sleep.

Exfoliate before your appointment and skip the moisturizer (it’ll make the tan slide off you).  Remember to wear loose, dark clothing straight after the tan has been applied but you’ll be safe to shower two hours after you’ve been sprayed (although for best results you should leave it on a little longer – most people get it done at night and then go to bed in it she says).

Hannah has a day job so she’s only free on evenings and weekends. The exact opposite of a salon in terms of her timings mean they pretty much suit everyone.

She’s happy to come to your house if you can gather four or more people who all want to do it (the tent she has is a pop up one so she can bring it along to save your walls – see below) or just nip over to hers: 79 Jalan Hitam Manis, Chip Be Gardens, Holland Village

Spray Tanner Hannah can be reached on +65 9328 7674 or via her Facebook page.

    The Chinese Angmoh
Why the strange name? Changmoh is an amalgamation of the words Chinese & 'Angmoh' (local speak for Caucasian should you be reading this in a country other than SG) // I'm an English girl living in Singapore and love the local way of life so much that I actually think I’m half Chinese. Maybe even three-quarters // Freelancer writer, author and editor ... you read it here first.
