There are some things that are simply infuriating about a good photographer: the first is that you can stand next to them and take the same shot at the same time, but theirs will always turn out considerably better. The other thing is the eye-watering price the professionals charge.Irene is a find. She is young (24) but very competent and gives VERY good rates which, wait for it, include giving you soft copies of all the photos she takes. Great with children, who seem to love her, she comes up with creative ways of taking all the usual family pictures as well as suggesting some places to go to that thankfully do not include the botanic gardens with everyone wearing coordinating white shirts (à la Tomato Photo, who as well as being slightly lacking on the imagination front, also charge like a kicking mule).
Make sure you give her a proper brief. If it’s candid shots you want, and nothing posed, make sure you are clear from the start. She is good at judging where and what angles will make for a good shot and often gets you going on some poses to start with to build confidence.
