I love my iPhone. I don’t feel any compelling need to rush to upgrade it to the new model that’s about to launch…but there is one thing I can’t bear about it. Its horribly pathetic battery life.

I think though, at long last, I have found a solution.

Initially I tried to deal with this issue with style. An error. There is no arguing that this:

bought at J Crew’s SoHo store, is a cute battery enhancer but it didn’t impart nearly enough charge for me; although it can push you from 10% battery life to back into the ‘green’, it’s not powerful enough to be useful. It also doesn’t help that you have to recharge it after only one use.

The lovely lady in charge of the Straits Times website (she has kindly asked yours truly to be a contributor – more soon) was driven so mad by this that she did oodles of research and uncovered what she professes to be the best high capacity compact charger out there, with enough charge for several uses and the ability to even jump start a flat iPad – all at the same time.

It’s not pretty, but it is clever:

It has its own charging cable as well as an additional charging port (it is this that allows you to  charge two things at once).

Mine was bought with at Challenger and cost just $89.90 (apologies…initial price posted yesterday was for older model and was incorrect). It comes everywhere with me.
