Giveaway: Seed & Bean Organic Chocolate

By Changmoh • Wednesday, 12 March 2014 • Brit Stuff, Food & Drink, Online Shopping, Shop Local

A square or two of dark chocolate after lunch is my guilty secret. As it’s dark, I feel I can justify it more easily than if the sugar content was higher (who am I kidding, it just means I can eat twice as much).

There are, though, a few ground rules to my chocolate scoffing: it obviously it has to taste great; if it’s organic, so much the better but taste is my main barometer. It also has to contain at least 60% cocoa solids, preferably 70%. Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, it can’t have been made for the Asian or Australian market as I hate the anti-melting additives they slip in, giving it entirely the wrong texture.

The nice chaps over at My Life Inc (who I’ve written about before here) have given me 50 chocolate bars that have been lovingly made in the UK – in Northamptonshire to be precise – by the award winning company Seed and Bean.

Good chocolate is relatively hard to come by in Singapore, so I did seriously contemplate keeping them all in my fridge and eating one a day…but I’m not convinced that’s the best option for my waistline. So on that basis, I am running my first ever giveaway.

CocoRasp1_1_MLI

Seed & Bean chocolate bars cost S$9 each.  The bars up for grabs are the big (85g) Organic Coconut and Raspberry Extra Dark Chocolate. If you’re not a coconut fan (I am, I love it) it actually only contains coconut oil and having consumed two bars in quick succession in the interests of research, can tell you that you don’t really taste it. The raspberry is delicious though and comes through quite strongly.  The all important minimum cocoa solids are 66%.

In order to keep it nice and simple, the first 50 people to email me with their full name and what they would like to read more of on changmoh.com (more bargain places please, more beauty reviews, more on local life etc ) will win a free bar. Please title your email ‘My Life Inc’ so it’s easily identifiable.

A few things:

Sorry but you must be living in Singapore to enter this giveaway.

Only one entry per person.

The chocolate is to be picked up by the winner within an agreed timeframe.  There will be a choice of two locations.

I have not been paid anything to run this giveaway.

All entrants should email me at: info@changmoh.com.

No correspondence will be entered into.

Giveaway ends on 14th March 2014.

My Life Inc are quite good on twitter; not just the usual corporate ‘puff’ postings but proper read-around-the-subject stuff on wellness and health. You can follow them here.

My Life also stock Seed & Bean’s other flavours of chocolate that sound delicious including Organic Cornish Sea Salt, Organic Fairtrade Chilli & Lime and Organic Fairtrade Lavender.

Why the strange name? Changmoh is an amalgamation of the words Chinese & 'Angmoh' (local speak for Caucasian should you be reading this in a country other than SG) // I'm an English girl living in Singapore and love the local way of life so much that I actually think I’m half Chinese. Maybe even three-quarters // Freelancer writer, author and editor ... you read it here first.
