I am easily pleased when I am in France. The inaugural trip to the supermarket even elicits squeals of excitement: there is just something about mountains of fresh, local produce, espadrilles that only cost €5 and Marseille soap.
The excitement doesn’t end there though. I am equally well disposed towards a French pharmacy.
Bioderma’s new product, Eau de soin, is this holiday’s hero product. Don’t be fooled by the medicinal-looking packaging. It’s a cooling, moisturising mist with – here’s the clever part – SPF 30. You can spritz it on over makeup too.
I find my skin is so much drier here than it is in Singapore and a bolt of moisturiser, quickly sprayed on at random points during the day when I wouldn’t usually apply any, is a huge help.
Whilst I am still a fan of slathering on SPF50 each and every morning – whether in Asia or Europe – this is also a brilliantly easy way to top up the sun protection and cool down, all at the same time.
I first read about this product on my friend’s mother’s blog, who spends half her time in London and the other half in St. Tropez. She is also rather partial to the odd ‘pharmacie’.
